The fountain of Dokkum is not finished yet.

The cultural year has almost finished, but Dokkum still has no fountain. The fountain has to produce ice both in the summer and winter, which is technical very difficult to accomplish. Therefore, more time is needed to finish the fountain.

Fryslân on the 3th place on the Lonely Planet list

Fryslân ended up 3th on the Lonely Planet list, which is a great accomplishment. The Lonely Planet list is an annual list of the best European holiday destinations and Leeuwarden, being the cultural capital of Europe, played a big role in accomplishing this achievement.

The people of Burgum make a globe and walk with it to Leeuwarden on the "8th day".

In Burgum a big globe is made by an organisation which calles themself "WereldBurgumer". This organisation walkes with the globe from Burgum to Leeuwarden on the "8th day".
